Mary Murray studied at the New York College of Health Professions in Syosset, New York. There she learned different modalities in Eastern, as well as Western Therapy. The Eastern modality she was intensely trained in is of Japanese derivative called AMMA. This focuses on the meridians in the body and palpating the correct points to relieve stress from various ailments. Mary graduated in 2001 with an Associate's Degree in Occupational Studies and became licensed shortly thereafter as a massage therapist.
Mary worked in a pain management clinic in Huntington, New York, and treated numerous patients with a variety of diseases and injuries. These are just a few: MS, Post-Polio, Whiplash and Paralysis. She and her husband relocated to Wilmington, North Carolina, in late 2002 as a direct result of 9/11.
In her years of residing in Wilmington she has had experience in the Day Spa setting. She has also had the opportunity to work for Wilmington Plastic Surgery for several years as well. Through the years Mary has built up a private practice in which she travels into clients' homes, providing relaxation and therapy within their personal setting. She feels that she has been blessed to have had this option while raising her two boys who are now 7 and 10 years old.
Mary is grateful to have been part of our team here at Atlantic Coast Chiropractic. Mary is continuing her education at CFCC where she is training to be an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
It is Mary's hope to someday utilize her knowledge in all fields that she has learned. She hopes to continue to assist individuals in our community and to guide them holistically to reach their goals to better health.
